These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of services by Plainview (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “the client”).

Plainview is operated as a sole trader business in England & Wales. Correspondence address: Union House, 111 New Union Street, Coventry CV1 2NT.

By purchasing or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Plainview

Plainview provides structured investigative review services for private individuals who are concerned about online identity, representation, or consistency.

Our work is conducted remotely and is based on:

  • Open-source intelligence (OSINT)

  • Online research

  • Cross-referencing publicly accessible information

  • Professional analysis and reporting

Plainview operates as an independent service provider and does not hold itself out as a regulated authority or licensed investigative body.

2. Services Offered

Plainview currently offers two fixed-price services:

  • Focused Review — £299

  • Extended Review — £500

All services are delivered digitally and involve desk-based research only.

2.1 What the Service Includes

  • Review of information supplied by the client

  • Open-source online research

  • Structured analysis of findings

  • A written report summarising observations and indicators

2.2 What the Service Does Not Include

Plainview does not:

  • Conduct surveillance or physical investigations

  • Contact or interact with any subject of the review

  • Access private, restricted, or unlawfully obtained data

  • Provide legal advice or legal conclusions

  • Conduct criminal investigations

  • Make determinations of guilt, innocence, or intent

  • Guarantee outcomes or definitive conclusions

The service is intended to provide context, structured analysis, and informed perspective — not proof or determinations.

3. Nature of Findings and No Guarantee

All findings are based on:

  • Information available at the time of review

  • Open-source and client-supplied material

  • Reasonable professional assessment

Online information may be incomplete, misleading, outdated, or deliberately manipulated.

Accordingly:

  • No guarantee is given that concerns will be confirmed or disproved

  • Absence of findings does not indicate absence of risk

  • Reports reflect analytical opinion based on information available at the time and are not statements of verified fact

  • Findings should not be relied upon as definitive fact

The client acknowledges that the service is advisory in nature and that any decisions made following receipt of a report are their sole responsibility.

4. Client Responsibilities

You confirm that:

  • Information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge

  • You have a lawful basis to provide any information submitted

  • You will not use the service for harassment, intimidation, or unlawful purposes

  • You will not present any report as legal, regulatory, or official determination

Plainview is not responsible for conclusions drawn or actions taken by you following delivery of the report.

5. Prohibited Use

You must not use Plainview’s services:

  • To stalk, harass, or intimidate another individual

  • To support fraud, coercion, or unlawful activity

  • To obtain information for commercial exploitation

  • To misrepresent our work as proof, certification, or legal authority

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service where prohibited use is suspected.

6. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is required upfront before any work begins

  • Prices are stated in GBP

  • Payment is processed via our designated payment provider

  • No work will commence until payment has been received in full

7. Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

As a consumer purchasing online, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase.

However:

By submitting your client briefing form and requesting that work begin within the 14-day cancellation period, you expressly consent to immediate commencement of the service.

You acknowledge that:

  • If the service is fully performed within the 14-day period, you lose your right to cancel.

  • If you cancel after work has commenced but before completion, you may be liable to pay for work already carried out on a reasonable and proportionate basis.

A full refund is available if cancellation occurs before work has commenced.

8. Commencement of Work

Work is deemed to have commenced once:

  • The client briefing form has been received, and

  • Receipt of that briefing has been acknowledged by Plainview

Once work has commenced, the service is considered in progress.

9. Service Upgrades

Clients may upgrade from a Focused Review to an Extended Review before delivery by paying the difference in fees.

10. Right to Refuse Service

Plainview reserves the right to:

  • Decline to accept a client

  • Refuse or discontinue a review

This may occur where:

  • A request falls outside the scope of the service

  • Ethical, legal, or safety concerns arise

  • Required information is not provided

Where refusal occurs before work has commenced, a full refund will be issued.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Plainview’s total liability is limited to the fee paid for the service.

  • This limitation applies whether the claim arises in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.

  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or speculative loss.

  • We are not responsible for decisions or actions taken by the client.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Intellectual Property

All reports, written materials, and content produced by Plainview remain our intellectual property.

Clients are granted a non-exclusive right to use the report for personal, private purposes only.

Reports may not be published, resold, altered, or presented as professional certification or legal evidence without prior written consent.

13. Confidentiality

Client information is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Confidentiality does not apply where disclosure is required by law.

14. Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
