Plainview Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Plainview’s services may, and may not, be used.

This policy should be read alongside the Plainview Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer.

1. Purpose of This Policy

Plainview provides reassurance-led investigative review services intended to support individuals who are seeking clarity about online identity or representation.

This policy exists to:

  • Protect clients, third parties, and Plainview

  • Ensure services are used lawfully and ethically

  • Set clear boundaries around appropriate use

2. Permitted Use

You may use Plainview’s services only:

  • For your personal, private purposes

  • To seek reassurance, clarity, or contextual understanding

  • Where you have a lawful basis to provide the information submitted

  • In a manner consistent with UK law

3. Prohibited Use

You must not use Plainview’s services:

  • To stalk, harass, intimidate, or monitor another individual

  • To gather information for confrontation, coercion, or leverage

  • To support fraud, deception, or unlawful activity

  • To investigate someone on behalf of an employer, business, or third party

  • To obtain information for commercial, media, or publication purposes

  • To misrepresent Plainview’s work as proof, certification, or legal determination

  • To attempt to access private, restricted, or unlawfully obtained data

Plainview does not support surveillance, subject contact, or intrusive investigation.

4. Information About Third Parties

Where you provide information relating to another individual:

  • You confirm you have a lawful basis to do so

  • You accept responsibility for that disclosure

  • You agree not to misuse any findings or observations

Plainview does not verify the lawfulness of client-supplied information and does not contact third parties.

5. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

Plainview reserves the right to:

  • Decline a request for service

  • Refuse to proceed

  • Discontinue work already agreed

This may occur where:

  • A request falls outside the intended scope of the service

  • There are ethical, legal, or safety concerns

  • Use appears inconsistent with this policy

Where service is refused before work has commenced, a refund will be issued in accordance with the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Breach of This Policy

Where this policy is breached:

  • Access to services may be withdrawn

  • Work may be discontinued

  • No refund will be due if work has already commenced

Plainview is not responsible for consequences arising from misuse of its services.

7. Governing Law

This Acceptable Use Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
