About Plainview Investigations

When you’re getting to know someone online, you want to feel confident that they are who they say they are. If you’re worried about being catfished—or want to check before a relationship develops—Plainview Investigations helps you look beyond the profile.

We assess photographs, online activity and personal claims to see what adds up, what raises concerns and what remains uncertain. You receive clear explanations and supporting evidence to help you decide how to move forward.

Careful research. Considered findings.

Our approach draws on training in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)—researching and assessing information from publicly accessible and other lawfully available sources.

We use specialist research tools alongside manual checks to examine digital footprints, compare information and investigate inconsistencies. This can include photographs, profiles, usernames, contact details and relevant personal or business claims.

A search result is a starting point. We consider whether information relates to the right person, how reliable the source is and whether other evidence supports it.

What this means for you

You receive a written report explaining what we found, why it matters and what remains uncertain. Supporting evidence and colour-coded assessments help you understand the findings, with plain-language explanations behind each assessment.

We distinguish between information that appears consistent, findings that raise concerns and areas where there is insufficient evidence to reach a conclusion. A limited digital footprint does not, by itself, mean someone is being dishonest.

Our role is to help you understand the evidence and its limits, so you can decide what to do next.

Discretion and respect

Concerns about someone online can be deeply personal. We approach your enquiry sensitively and without judgement.

Our reviews do not involve contacting the person being reviewed. We focus on research and assessment, with the scope and expected delivery time agreed before work begins.
